Gender, DEI and Social Norms

We are committed to work towards ensuring gender justice for all, especially for women and girls, and building gender-egalitarian communities.

Dignified and rightful living free from all forms of discrimination, abuse, atrocities, and violence is a human right that all individuals deserve universally. However, gaps and gender disparities continue to exist across regions and cultural contexts. Gender inequality, discriminatory social norms and oppression hinder access to resources and opportunities for growth and development, which have a lasting impact on an individual’s ability to access health, education, employment, and overall development of decision-making process. This disparity continues to affect millions of lives, often beyond the binaries of men and women, although statistically, women and girls are the most disadvantaged.

PCI India is committed to work towards ensuring gender justice for all, especially for women and girls, and building gender-egalitarian communities. Through our program interventions and knowledge-exchange platforms, we are working on the issues of Gender, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), Youth & Adolescents, and Social Norms.

We strive for gender equality and equity through bridging the gendered divide and facilitate empowerment-focussed life journeys in the communities and regions we serve. Providing multi-disciplinary solutions to complex regressive normative and behavioural practices is key to building an inclusive and equitable societies.

We work with Gender-transformative strategies

Our team believes in gender transformative approaches of solutioning and functioning on the foundation of enhancing agency and healthy growth & development. We work closely with communities, governments, and private sector players to encourage gender equality, social & financial inclusion and shifting norms for holistic empowerment and contribute to the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals.

Our gender-transformative strategies aim to develop scalable models for bringing transformations in gender norms, behaviors and practices. We use Human Centered Designs and Behavior & Normative Change Approaches, with a strong focus on strengthening communities. Our solutions are developed keeping the gender factors and the socio-ecological contexts into consideration, making them most feasible and acceptable in the communities. We are reaching out to millions of lives through gender-based program interventions, target population appropriate training modules, knowledge products & advocacy.
